aNyhed – News site for Danes

I better mention one of my new projects aNyhed.dk – a digg like clone in Danish I started jan 19 2008.
The principle is straight forward: You can submit news of any kind and other members can vote for that particular news / story. Only the most popular stories will hit the front page of aNyhed.dk.

The site was made a bit out of egoistic means as I love to read other peoples blogs – but at the same time could get a little tired of reading the “dull” stories. With aNyhed, I and others should get a little reinsurance that the front page stories are actually worth reading, so I guess you can call it a human filter.

The site has already in a very short time gained some popularity and new members sign up daily (around 80 registered members atm.).

I keep customizing the site from the feedback I get on the corresponding blog – aNyhed Blog – and will continue this as long as people find it a interesting place to be.

As a real Web 2.0 site the users have the power both to vote stories on the front page, but at the same time they got the power to completely remove stories (if enough vote against it)

Well, that’s enough from me for now. I got tons of work to do 🙂

  1. I like what I see 🙂 …and have registered as user.

I see you run the site on pligg – what do you think of customizing the templates? Easy?

  2. Hi PÃ¥l, long time no see 🙂 Good to see you made an account and joined the community.
Yeah, I work with ASP daily and rarely touch PHP so I’m pretty surprised how easy it is to customize.
Only problem is all the bugs the site core has, specially for languages with special characters like Danish. I have changed so many things now in the core files to get it to work as it should (still got lots to do).
    – But hey, good way to learn more PHP :p

  3. I’ve been messing around with a drupal installation and a module called drigg (www.drigg-code-org).
Its basically a digg-pligg-clone for Drupal, but with all the advantages of a stable CMS on top 🙂
